Feb. 9: Brooklyn Concert, 8 p.m., Yeasayer
Experimental indie-rockers Yeasayer are another one of Brooklyn’s own bands. They call their music “Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel”. That’s pretty close. They sound like the sort of music you’d hear in your head if you were shirtless on a tropical island snorting coke and drinking rum and coconut milk with your lover, both of you looking into each other’s eyes and seeing the reflection of the meteor shower above. Live at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, 66 North 6th St., Brooklyn, NY 11211. $16 at Ticketmaster.
